I just picked up a flying sub kit and bought two jet drives like that and have pumps as well and havent decided which way to go. either way i was still going to use the nozzles from the jet drive on the pump motor setup, if i go that route.

the more I see you playing with the Typhoon or Seaquest makes me feel like I need one in my life.

Idea for a kiss principle stern thruster that is invisible. Put a 1/8th brass pipe through the hull each side ahead of the stern planes. connect these pipes through the same type of gear pump that R&R use for ballast. Y lead the speed controller in to your rudder servo. this set up is remarcably powerfull and makes any long boat turn on a dime. Regards Clive : Ps the props on the G5 torpedo boat are true scale. I have seen the real thing in Russia. the full size could do 50 knots flat out.

Hey, just a question. Has anyone in the hobby ever made or considered making an rc replica of the Ulysses from Atlantis the lost empire? It's one of my favorite fictional submarines and i've not seen anyone try to make a detailed model of it online, much less an rc model. Would be awesome if someone did try it.

so i like what you did in recating scale verion of the Nautilus I just have one ? When am I going too see it sink a ship like it did in the movie ? I mean come on ! Who wouldn,t like to see that happan! Sure it,s not build to do that it now but I am sure you can do it right? all you need to do is remake a 2nd removal top piece deck with a metal alloy front bow add a more powerful motor and battery so it can get up too ramming speed and let,s the carage happan! But I don,t have the money or skills set and website subpport that you have. thx you taking the time too read my message and looking forward too see this happan.

The thing that makes them less attractive for designing to me is that 90% is electronics and all inside of a tube making the 3d printed stuff only decorative.

When there s so much room between the drive shaft coming out of the cilinder and the propeller shaft, could you use a timing belt? That way you don't loose any power from the engine and I suppose it also gives more flexibility for placing the cilinder. Or do timing belts struggle under water?

Enjoyed this episode. With the Gato, how about toothed belt drive? Then you can slide the tube aft.

At 4:20 mark there seems to be a nick in the insulation of the red wire coming out of the ESC.

Normally what you are calling a 'dry solder' is referred to as 'cold solder' joint. Either name means really bad soldering job and causes all sorts issues.

I would like to build one of these that a 1:48th-scale model of a Convair PBY-1 Liberator USN Convoy Patrol Bomber (from the Hobby Boss kit of the Consolidated B-24D Liberator USAAF Heavy Bomber) engaging it with a pair of depth charges. The water blast would extend over 60 metres (200 ft) to the vertical, which in this scale would be round 1.25 metres (over four feet)!
